Summerfield Developments

"following the success of Chelston Business Park where we have developed over 500,000 ft² for local and national businesses over the last 15 years we are planning further substantial investment in the Wellington area with the proposed creation of a new business park on land already allocated in the Local Plan.

With its excellent local facilities, access to the M5 and location in the beautiful rolling countryside of Somerset, Summerfield understands the attractions of Wellington as a desirable place to both live and work and for this reason we want to continue to satisfy demand from expanding businesses relocating to our high quality working environment at Chelston"

Swallowfield

Swallowfield plc

The business that is now Swallowfield plc based in Wellington started life in 1876 as Walter Gregory & Co Ltd, the animal husbandry business, making a range of products which were sold through a national sales force direct to farms. Changes in ownership and product diversification led the company to produce the first commercial aerosols which were basically farm products, air fresheners and insecticides in the late 1940s, early 1950s. To this day, the company maintains a lead in product innovation and creativity in aerosol packaging and specialises in household and personal care products.

Located close to the M5 motorway, the company has maintained its head office in the town of Wellington and expanded into other products including colour cosmetics manufactured at its factory site in Bideford, Devon. Now a major employer, the company continues to grow, benefiting from the location and loyal workforce, a number of whom have worked with the business for many years.
